Hi. I’m Laurie and I’m addicted to screens. And while I’m not so naïve as to think I can live life without them, I do think I can probably managing my time better.
So a few years ago I set out to change my relationship with screens. To make my time on the screen more mindful, and less mindless. To spend more time creating, and less time curating. To use screens more responsibly and less frequently. I even set an actionable goal for myself: to MAKE something every month that year. A real thing. That you can touch. Or stand in front of. Twelve projects in twelve months. It was amazing.
And then I created Step Away from the Screen — a website and a Facebook community. Not to be ironic (though it is pretty ironic) but because I got feedback during my project that other people would also like to spend less time on screens.
