When I was growing up we had lots of Aunts & Uncles who weren’t actually Aunts & Uncles but who played Aunts & Uncles in my life. My parents’ closest friends were granted familial status and our relationships with them were as close as the names Aunt & Uncle would imply. Even the long-distance ones. Most of my pseudo Aunts & Uncles had kids whom we called, true to form, cousins, and although we cousins don’t see each other all that terribly often, we still love each other and behave as if we were actually cousins. It can get a little confusing when I tell you about them — since I tend to just call them cousins and Aunts & Uncles when actually they aren’t cousins or Aunts & Uncles — because usually you’ll ask me at some point how I’m related to them, and then I have to tell you how my parents had us call all their closest friends Aunt & Uncle but that we aren’t really related even though I’m as close with some of them as I am with my real Aunts & Uncles and cousins. Get it? Ok good. Because that explanation tired me out.
Anyway, my cousin Lindsay has a filmmaker boyfriend named Ben. He’s very cute and very talented and I expect many of you will, someday, know his name (independent of his ersatz relationship to me, I mean) because he’s gonna be famous. Until that inevitable and great day arrives, I am pleased to be able to present one of his pieces here, on Friday Morning Videos. I did not consult him (or my cousin) before posting this video, so don’t go accusing him of shameless and perverted self-promotion (y’know, here, where he has an audience of, like, 12 people). But if you like what you see, you can certainly go to his website, Seaworthy Films, and see more. Heck — hire him, why don’tcha!
So without further ado, here’s Ben’s (Seaworthy Films’) video for the band Tall Hands, for their song Three Full Virginias:
Happy weekend everyone. Hope the weather is as lovely there as it is here. And if it isn’t, come visit!
I don’t know who this Ben is, but from the looks of the video, I get the feeling he’s really handsome, fun-loving, smart. He probably has a thing for short, nerdy girls. Loves Buster Keaton. And has a birthmark on his bum. You know, just a feeling.
Thanks, Laurie! It was so nice to see y’all–and to meet your gorgeous girls. Hope we can do it again soon.
Much love.
Really fun video! And I like the song, too!
Ditto that cute girl Lindsay! Awesome that you made this
your friday morning video. Thanks for the dinner and game
night. The girls are soooo adorable I can’t stand it. 🙂
holy shit, this video’s incredible!
