My boyfriend, Bob, and I got married at a summer camp in the North Carolina mountains. Our guests stayed in cabins (with bunk beds!) and the entire weekend was spent at the camp. We tried hard to provide a big experience, starting with a cookout Friday night, to camp activities all day Saturday (zip line, climbing wall, canoe lake, softball games, tennis courts, hiking trails, yoga, and more), a wedding ceremony by the lake, and dancing all night long. I wanted the invitation to reflect the camp experience, so I looked to scouting books for inspiration. The envelopes were canvas panels sewn shut, with addresses ironed on (like so many iron-on name labels in camp t-shirts), and the invitation was printed on construction paper, bound with twine.
